Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
NPG delivered event services to the official opening of the new production facilities for Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace.
The factory supplies parts to F-35 fighters manufactured by Lockheed Martin. The company is one of the Norwegian defence industry’s largest customers.
With state secretaries, mayor, management of the Kongsberg Group and Lockheed Martin and other invited guests present, Lockheed Martins’s top manager Marillyn Hewson received the honour of cutting the ribbon, and declaring the modern extension of the building for officially opened.
“It’s an honour to stay here and the experience was even better when I saw this facility, which is not only world-class when it comes to advanced production equipment, but also the highly skilled employees working here,” said Hewson from the podium (E24).
According to the online newspaper E24, the F-35 program is one of the largest industrial projects ever launched. Lockheed Martin manufactures the aircraft primarily in the United States, but the Kongsberg Group has secured contracts to produce parts.
