About the project
The 2021 World Wrestling Championships were a historic breakthrough for wrestling in Norway, the first world championships on Norwegian soil since 1985. The event brought together 800 athletes from over 100 countries, and was held in the iconic Jordal Amfi in Oslo. With a large international commitment, the championships were an experience for both athletes and spectators.
Our role
On behalf of Norwegian Wrestling Federation NPG was responsible for the entire implementation of the 2021 World Wrestling Championships. This included comprehensive collaboration across Our services:
• Arena production and technical setup: To ensure that the entire event for the World Wrestling Championships ran smoothly, NPG provided a complete technical production and setup service.
• Visualization and design of the arena: Jordal Amphitheater was transformed into a prestigious, international wrestling arena, a perfect host for the World Wrestling Championships.
• PR and communication work: We ensured that the right audience was reached through carefully planned PR strategy.
• Sponsorship and media rights: NPG created valuable sponsorship opportunities and handled media rights for the 2021 World Wrestling Championships.
• Fan zone: We designed and rigged a dedicated arena “fanzone” where visitors could participate in exciting activities.
The Result
The 2021 World Wrestling Championships delivered fantastic entertainment and excitement. The event was broadcast on NRK and had a global TV reach of 170 million viewers. This World Wrestling Championship was not just a sporting event, but a cultural and sporting highlight for Norway and the rest of the world.

It's absolutely spectacular. Incredibly good. This was an Olympic facility during the 1952 Winter Olympics, and now we can host the World Wrestling Championships here. It's almost unbelievable. The organizers have really done a great job. I would really recommend other sports to collaborate with Oslo and hold championships here.
